Kathleen A. Rieger
May 11, 1949 – August 19, 1972

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 22 from the Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre for Kathleen Ann Rieger, 23, Ogden, Utah. The Rev. Diedric Nelson officiated at the 10:00 A.M. service and burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Pierre. Pallbearers were Bruce Goehring, Brian Paulson, Douglas Gienger, Gary Goehring, Dennis Gienger and Dallas Tschappat.

Miss Rieger was killed instantly in an automobile accident on Saturday, August 19. Enroute to Pierre to attend the wedding of her brother Eddy, which was held that evening. Kathleen was driving to Denver to catch a plane. She met her death near Laramie, on a two lane road. The driver of a semi stated she had passed him as he was in the right hand passing lane, when she was ahead of him, her car took a sharp swing and was hit on the drivers side by an oncoming vehicle.

Kathleen was born May 11, 1949, at Eureka, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. August Rieger of Pierre. She was a licensed practical nurse at St. Benedict Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

She is survived by her grandparents, Mrs. Mary Gienger, and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Rieger; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. August Rieger, all of Pierre; five brothers, Stanley, Tucson, Az., Phillip, Eddy, Wayne, & Brian; one sister, Vernice, all at home.

She was preceded in death by one brother.
